What I am about to tell you are the FACTS.
Ignore unverified rumours circulating on social media
suggesting that Pakatan Rakyat is on a winning streak, for example:
“(Just got this msg from a friend. Unconfirmed report) Apparently Putra Jaya issued an order that wef fm Monday, all staff not allowed OT and only authorized staff are allowed into PM department !!!! They saw the revolt at PAS Ceramah in Putrajaya recently. Clearly Prime Minister Office are cleaning shits in the office before handover. Sign of bn preparing defeat.”
This could be counter-propaganda deliberately distributed
by BN to create overconfidence and a sense of premature victory amongst Pakatan
Rakyat supporters to lull us into a false sense of security. When we feel
secure, we let our guard down, and we inadvertently slow down. And that is when
BN swoops in and finishes us off.
And then there are these rumours floating around too:
“Thousands are being flown to Selangor from Sabah as phantom voters.”
“Registered voters who have been traced to have voted for PR in the last GE12 have been wiped off the polling list after they submitted their ICs for BN sponsored events.”
None of the above can be verified and we should not spend
our time or energy speculating on them unnecessarily. We only have a few days
left before the 5th of May.
If you really want to know what is true, read the following:
- Women voters are swinging back to BN, thanks to cash hand-outs and instant projects.
- Malay-Muslim voters are returning to BN because they fear a backlash from non-Muslims.
- Non-Muslims urban voters are alarmed by the spectre of HUDUD and are choosing to vote for “the devil they know than the devil they don’t”, despite HUDUD not being in the Pakatan Rakyat Manifesto.
- The last three days will be CRUCIAL when BN will go into full throttle. Expect not a flood but a tsunami of cash, fear-mongering and an avalanche of scandalous news.
- The allegations of massive fraud may occur, and the rumours regarding indelible ink, phantom voters and disappearance of registered voters off the list could come true.
What do these mean? It means Pakatan Rakyat may have enjoyed
extensive support over the past few years but BN is slowing chipping away at
that support and Pakatan Rakyat may just lose by a slim majority. Remember
Sarawak State Election 2011 when we were all so confident of winning?
What are YOU doing to stop BN from winning this time? Just
sitting at your computer and shouting on social media is not going to help very
much.
Go to the nearest Pakatan Rakyat (PKR, DAP or PAS)
campaigning office and offer yourself as a volunteer to become a campaigner, an
observer or a polling agent.
1. We need to protect our voters from being persuaded by BN to vote for the status quo. Campaigning is easy – just talk to others and explain to them why you support Pakatan Rakyat. Explain why cash hand-outs are just quick fixes that will not improve our future.2. We need to protect our votes and you can do your part by being a protector of votes as an observer or polling agent. This is our last line of defence – come and stand with us and make your stand and protect YOUR vote from being stolen.
I give you the truth. Not rumours. Now it is up to you to do
your part if you want Pakatan Rakyat to win on the 5th of May.
And most important, YOU and ALL Pakatan Rakyat supporters
must go out in FULL FORCE to vote to overcome phantom voters! Every vote
counts! Every seat counts!
